BMO Capital Markets Paris Office Opening

This happened back in October 2009 but I thought I'd put it up.

BMO Capital Markets, a large Canadian trading firm opened their first Paris office on plush Place Vendôme.

These are the men heading the company. They needed some pics to announce the news.

It was a bright sunny day with harsh shadows and aggressive highlights so fill-in flash was a must.

I had to file the pics pretty quick too as they wanted the pics to appear in real time.

Cigar tasting at Terra Madre in Torino

Here is a lively chap who made us taste Tuscan cigars, an absolutely delicious experience. He was wearing a bespoke suit made from English cloth by his Italian tailor mate and was prancing up and down in a lively manner. He is a flautist by trade and his name is Stefano. The woman on the side is the booze bearer.

Pic was with Leica M3 and 50mm lens. I am getting used to the focusing action, changing film was quite a challenge in the beginning! I am still amazed at the build quality of this beast.

Here is a shot taken with my 90mm lens on my M3, the man is a salesman at Classic Camera in London where I bought the lens, this is a test pic. Click on the pic and you can see the pores on his nose! I was really pleased and can understand why people will pay more for Leica.

I am going back to film for all my personal work and have also bought a Nikon F3 for slide work. I am so pleased about digital! Thanks to it some of these great cameras and lens systems are dirt cheap! Not the Leicas unfortunately.
